The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) was established in 1952 by Pastor Josiah Akindayomi in Lagos, Nigeria, with a vision to promote holiness and spread the gospel. Beginning with a small congregation, the church grew steadily under his leadership. In the late 1970s, Pastor Akindayomi, guided by divine instruction, appointed Pastor Enoch Adeboye as his successor, a young lecturer and pastor.

 

After Pa. Akindayomi passed away in 1981, Pastor E.A Adeboye became the General Overseer. With his innovative leadership, RCCG experienced unprecedented growth, expanding globally to over 190 countries. He introduced impactful initiatives like the Holy Ghost Congress and emphasized prayer, holiness, and evangelism as the church's foundation.

 

Today, RCCG is one of the largest Pentecostal denominations worldwide. Committed to its mission of global evangelism, spiritual growth, and community impact, the church continues to fulfill its vision of reaching every corner of the world with the gospel.
